The new Ristretto Roasters, open in September 2008, is our flagship store. Located just minutes from downtown on the commuter’s corridor of Williams Avenue, the new Ristretto is a convenient place to fuel up on the way to work or pick up a pound or two on the way home. But the cafe is also a destination, a place to cozy up in a banquette with a cup of Yirgacheffe, while away an hour on the heated patio, or sample new roasts in our cupping room.
We had the great good fortune to collaborate with Holst Architecture on the new space, and the result is something we would be tempted to call a cathedral of coffee–if it weren’t so livable and welcoming in addition to being quite grand.
Our new cupping room is equipped with sample roasters and the same Brazilian cupping tables you would find on the great coffee estates, everything needed to take coffee appreciation to the next level in a town where it’s already ridiculously high.
The facilities in our new building are tailored to meet the needs of bicycle commuters, including covered, locked bike storage and shower facilities.
